no bootable device out of the blue Possibly hard drive failure

My laptop should still be under warranty, so this problem should be covered right? Right now when I try to start up my ACER laptop it makes this clicking sounds, presumably it's the hard drive. What options do I have? Is there any simple solution to fix this? I've only had this laptop for maybe 5 months and did experience random BSODs, one within a week of purchasing. However when I called ACER about it they said only an imminent failure would be covered.
Well, now this is imminent, I was playing some games on my laptop when my PC randomly froze. Then when I turned it on I got the no bootable device error.
Any thoughts on what I should do?

    Hi achen

If you hear clicking sounds coming from where the hard drive is . That's a sign to replace your drive . If possible remove it and add to a desktop has a slave drive and copy your files over . Files that are in C:\Users\[your account name] , my documents , favorites , my music , my video , and etc .

Yes ACER should replace the hard drive . It is still under warranty .

thank you for the quick reply, do you think they will replace the laptop or simply just the hard drive? Also what exactly do you mean by a slave drive because there are some files I would like to retrieve.

If you have another computer as in a desktop . Unplug the DVD drive and plug in the laptop hard drive . Don't worry if the laptop drive is a SATA hard drive it will fit the desktop DVD SATA cables .

ACER will only change the hard drive and reinstall windows with the image of the day you bought the laptop .

but the thing is, I think my hard drive is failed, would I still be able to back up the files in that case? I'm not too great with computers either, how would I unplug the DVD drive?
    Thanks alot vistaking!

It is an ACER ASPIRE V3-571G-6602.
So even if the hard drive is failed I can still extract my files?
Also, will my warranty be voided if I open up the laptop and remove the hard drive? Because I plan on shipping the laptop back for repairs as soon as possible.
    Thanks again!

Depends where the drive is . If you have take the laptop apart than yes if no than your warranty is good . You have a 50/50 chance of getting the info off the drive

Sorry to be such a pest with all the questions, but what do you mean if you have to take the laptop apart? I believe there's a separate compartment for where the hard drive is located so I don't have to completely open the laptop, but i'm not entirely sure. Would that still void the warranty?
Also, how come it's a 50/50 chance, just wondering.
    -Thanks

If you have a compartment for your drive you should be good . Remove battery first and remove the hard drive . Will need a Philips screw driver . Reason why I said 50-50 chance cause sometimes you can't recover data sometimes you can . Depends on bad the drive is .

Placing the laptop has a slave drive ( 2nd hard drive ) remove the cables from the dvd drive on the desktop and plug them into the laptop's hard drive .

       Note
your desktop should be turned off before you do any unplugging
