Drop Down Menu selection frozen on screen

    Hi there,
when i right click and select an option from the drop down menu the option i clicked stays stuck on the screen until i restart my computer. It's not clickable or anything but it's still there. It's always the first one I have clicked in each session. any ideas as to how to get rid of it? It gets quite annoying. I have attacked a picture as an example.
    Cheers

Strange. Only thing that comes to my mind is updating your graphics driver.

I've tried that and it still happens. Very odd indeed.

Hi Harry and welcome to Seven Forums.

Did you try a restart on the computer at all? How long is the pc up and running?

I turn it off every day and the menu option disappears after a restart.

Ok well first of all we will do a check disk on you C: Drive or whatever letter your Operating System is on.

    Disk Check

I would go with option 2 in this tut.

After a check disk I would recommend doing sfc /scannow command

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

well i did both of those things and they came back blank. not sure whats happened. I updated to the 13.3 catalyst driver just after i did those tests and it stopped happening until I updated to the 13.5 beta drivers and it has started happening again! I'm going to try rolling back to the 13.4 drivers and see if that helps.
thanks for the quick reply anyway :)

Hi Harry sorry for the late reply I was away from the forums and couldn't write on it. Has the problem been solved? If so can you mark the Thread as solved. Thanks

    h4rry

    first go to Start menu
    Right-click on Computer
    Choose “Properties”
    click “Advanced system settings”
In the Performance section, click the “Settings” button
In the “Visual Effects” tab de-select the option for "Fade out menu items after clicking.

    Visual Effects Settings - Change

    hopefully it will work.....
