    Windows 7 re-install

    Hi Folks,
I have an ongoing problem with Windows 7 Pro on a partitioned Hard Drive. To resolved this problem I wish to re-install Win 7 to the C: drive.
Is formatting the C: drive partition the only option? I have tried to 'Repair' the O/S but was told that the O/S installed is a newer version (upgraded version).
Your help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Follow the guide : Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

It will give you the best reinstall possible.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
Now upon trying to locate the correct ISO file for my Win7 32-bit O/S I am given 2 options, as shown. Obviously it's not the X64 version so, is the x86 version the correct one?
    Windows 7 Professional x86 SP1 U (media refresh) X17-59183.iso
    Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 U (media refresh) X17-59186.iso

Also, do I still need to format the C: drive before the clean install?

You may get either of those isos.

In the step 8 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7, you will get the link of Clean Install Windows 7. Format the disc as stated there, and complete the installation accordingly.
