I do have another laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate and also an Ubuntu Bootable USB. Can I do something with that
Create a system repair disk on that machine. System Repair Disc - Create

Boot the sick machine from that dvd. Does it see the win7 install? Can you see the recovery options like startup repair, system restore, command prompt?

    enter command prompt:

    Code:
    bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled no
This disables automatic recovery to startup repair in case of errors. It does it for the default OS (you only have 1).

Now try to boot from harddisk and tell me what happens. look carefully for errors and everything that happens!

To revert back to how it was:
    Code:
    bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled yes

    Still recoveryenabled=no

Try minimal boot. (just boot normally)
    Code:
    bcdedit/set {default} safeboot Minimal
or minimal with network. (just boot normally)
    Code:
    bcdedit/set {default} safeboot Network
revert back to normal as it was by deleting safeboot value
    Code:

    bcdedit/deletevalue {default} safeboot

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
    2. Choose language settings, and then click "Next".
    3. Click "Repair your computer".
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
    File: \Windows\system32\DRIVERS\MpFilter.sys
    Status: 0xc0000098
Info: Windows failerd to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt.

    bcdedit/deletevalue {default} safeboot
    bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled yes

That resets all to the state is was. I gonna investigate what \Windows\system32\DRIVERS\MpFilter.sys really is.

    Code:
    c:
    cd \windows\system32\drivers
    ren MpFilter.sys MpFilter-test.sys
now set recoveryenabled to no again. So you get the mpfilter.sys error message. It should be gone now. What happens when booting?
