In any Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer) window, click the Organize button and follow the numbers in the snip:

Other browsers=sorta. While using IE10, the navigation pane is blank but the main area is the desktop. But when I open a folder to explore it, it will not let me go back/sticks to that folder.
And for windows explorer, i can use the navigation pane in Explorer.
And for the most recent reply, I did it and Navigation pane was already selected. Still have the issue.Last edited by Superluigi6; 07 Apr 2013 at 09:34.

Yeah, you have navigation pane turned on, but it's empty for some reason when it should not be.
For now, run a sfc /scannow command to see if finds and can repair any corrupted or modified system files that will hopefully fix this for you. You may need to run it a few times followed by a restart after each time.

Here's another thought, check if Show All Folders is checked.

It just finished. There were corrupt files in the CBS.log, and will take effect in the next reboot which I'll do now.

I'll have to try yours after reboot. Hopefully it's okay with you :)
Notice: when I try to save something/save as, it shows the navigation pane.

The folders are indeed showing, but I used brink's solution first, which helped.
Thank you Brink for the solution and Britton30 for also helping. And luckily I didn't have to do a System restore!
