Tasks under Start Menu not working

    Hello,

I upgraded from Vista SP1 to Windows 7 Ultimate. The upgrade completed successfully, but i have the following issue.
Under Start Menu, some options, such as Getting Started,Sticky Notes etc have Tasks listed for them, so that when we hover our mouse over one of these items a sub menu opens with various tasks listed. Now, if i click on one of these Tasks nothing happens.
Any way to fix this ?

    Thank You

You're talking about the little sidebar that opens showing the latest documents and such that you've opened in those programs? Right?

If nothing's happening when you click them, then it possibly means that the shortcut to those items is corrupt and not going anywhere.

You can right click on the items, go to properties, and make sure the shortcut is pointing to the right folder.

Hello Jiml, and welcome to Seven Forums.

These are jump lists. It may be one of those upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 issues. You might try a clean install of Windows 7 instead to see if runs better for you.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
