Make my notepads & browsers open on top when selected.

    As per the title:

PLEASE show me how to "Make my notepads & browsers open on top when selected."

Currently when selected in task bar they pop up underneath & I have to minimize what's open to see 'em.

How windows are stacked is called the Z order and it is controlled in part by your video drivers. If updating your video drivers does not solve the issue, then you will probably have to use a script to force the action that you want. I might be able to help you script a solution. Please see this post (and the videos) for more info on the scripting tool that I would use for this.

Thanks for offering to help. Things are frustrating on this PC. The other issue is the items in the task bar keep flickering when hovering over with mouse. Maybe this too is video drivers? Win 7 forum has never solved this for me before. In fact I dont think many understand it. Video drivers is certainly a new suggestion.

So, how do i update the video drivers. They dont seem obvious in the device manager, buit it is late Sat. nite.

Looking forward to some freedom from these little hassles.

    thanks.

You can visit the website of the manufacturer of your computer or video card for updates. Who made your computer. Who made your video card?

You might also try dropping down to the classic theme to see if the task bar issue goes away. Your mouse might use a driver other than the OS one. Who made your mouse?

If need be - install a little app named speccy. It might help you learn things about your video card.

You want it to do the opposite of this,

When you get to step 7 set it to 0, then log off or restart for the change to take effect.
