    Parental Controls Access Denied

    Hi Everyone,
I am having a problem on my computer where windows Parental Controls says this: "Unable to make changes to parental controls settings. If this problem presists, see your system admin". Is there a fix to this?

I am running an Acer Aspire One AO722 With 2 gigs of ram

MC are you trying to set this up for your own machine or someones else's to restrict the user apart from you or the machines actual owner of the machine that has another user account?

So whoever owns this machine and has the login password is the administrator and is the only one as far as I know is able to do this.

I am using this on my own machine. I have admin privileges and everything but it just blocks me for some reason.

Also I did use tweaking.com to reset file permissions and it still did not do anything.

MC I personally don't like any of those rev it up and cure all apps I think (as do many of the other members do) they are a bit like snake oil treatments.

Just for starters if you know when you put this app on do a system restore to before that and see what happens. If it doesn't cure it it either mean one of two things
    a) the app is not responsible for the issue or
    b) the app is the cause because it has altered the Windows default settings so that that feature is now unusable.
Problem with b) is that has it altered it permanently or not,
If the system restore works then I would be dumping the app ASAP.

If you are after a few tweaking features Brink has this tutorial which uses the "native" features of Windows and I use it on all new installs or fixes I may do. It does mean you lose some of the "bling" like transparency if you should not need that for example but generally speaking the machine can be "improved" ( a good deal faster)

Oh meant to add what is the motherboard on that machine? as it isn't in your specs and av you recently updated the BIOS.
