Windows 7: Faster than the eye splashscreen driving me nuts

Faster than the eye splashscreen driving me nuts

My most recent clean install of Win7 64 bit displays a very brief splashscreen right after the desktop loads. I minimize startups and use Autoruns to stop most others. The only two non-MS startups that I haven't tried disabling relate to logitech setpoint. I haven't tried safe mode yet.

Is there any trick that is available to slow the splashcreen so that it can be read? Thanks.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

How long does it display for?

It displays for perhaps one fourth of a second and it happens very early after the desktop is seen. I'm sure I couldn't time a screenshot.

I just now disabled every non-MS startup item available in Autoruns and I still see the splashscreen. I've disabled Microsoft Security Essentials real time scanning and also the startup service.

If you have a video cam, you might be able to record it and freeze frame on the splash screen.

Yeah, I thought about that 30 frames per second and it would show up on a frame probably but I don't have the equipment.

I just looked at a boot log and one of the last things to load was ATI Fuel Service. I disabled that service and haven't seen the splash for the last two boots.

I don't know why a screen would be displayed when the Fuel service loads but for curiosity I'd like to be able to see it.

EDIT: Not the fuel service. Whatever it is sometimes it loads before the desktop and sometimes after. I guess I'll get someone who has a smart phone to record while I boot.

USB Problem. Driving me nuts!
It may be coincidental, but I bought a memory stick off ebay which turned out to be fake. Since that time, I found that every time I turn on my Acer Aspire laptop it will not recognize anything (stick, drive, camera, ipod etc.) plugged into the USB ports or a card in the memory card socket. No...
