    :BDU:$DATA (alert) ... when copying EXE files


    When I copy paste EXE files from one drive/folder to another I sometimes get a windows-alert .....
    ":BDU:$DATA will be removed, but data will not be lost."
    It happens infrequently ... has not been convenient to capture better details.

    Q1: What does this all mean ?
    Q2: Am I doing something wrong ?

    Looks like an Alternative Data Stream. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS#A...eams_.28ADS.29

    Probably some third-party application or something.
