Image handling and Help access problems

    Hi all

My computer has started acting oddly. Firstly, the Help option Search on Word and other programs does not produce any results. Secondly, the way in which image capture from the web works has changed: I used to do "right click Copy image" on an image on a webpage, then to paste into Word, I used "Shift Insert". Now I have to use CTRL ALT V and then select the "Bitmap" option.

Prior to these issues, I had a major update from Microsoft. I also set Skype up on my computer. I tried to restore the computer to an earlier date (twice, with different dates), but it would not work - I got an an unidentified error message.

Does anyone have any clues as to what has happened and how I can get back to where I was?

    Many thanks in anticipation

    Kate

Hi Kate and welcome to Seven Forums.

What was the error message you were getting? More info on this would be really helpful.

Another issue is that I can't see images embedded in emails any more. Something a bit odd is going on!

Your Anti Virus is stopping the System Restore. Go into Safe Mode (Turn on PC and when the Dell sign comes on press F8 key 3 or 4 times then in the window that opens use your arrow keys to select the Safe Mode option and press Enter) and do a System Restore from there as it looks like that update is causing the problems.

Sorry for the late reply. But as stated above, the error is your anti virus. You will need to go into safe mood. If them instructions aren't clear enough here is a tutorial: System Restore
