What happened to "file" tab in Properties for TXT file??

I'm doing some maintenance on a friend's machine and noticed that there is no mini-icon (from Notepad) for TXT files:

When I investigated to see what the current associated program and icon was so that I could change it, I noticed that it looks fine, and Notepad is correctly associated with TXT:

And Notepad itself has the correct icon and is the associated default program for TXT files:

So what caused the disappearance of the Notepad mini-icon for TXT files, and how do I get it back? I have tried doing the usual "rebuild icon cache" process but that didn't help.

Sorry... I really mis-titled this thread. I was looking at a screenshot from Stardock's enhancement, and my brain mishandled things.

I really just want to know what happened to the mini-icon from Notepad when looking at a TXT file. What happened to the normal mini-icon that shows for the associated default program? And how do I get it back?

HAve had a look at this and the odd thing is it doesn't matter what program you assocaite with a TXT file the icon stays the same as your screenshot. That's the TXT icon irrespective of the associated programs icon. That's what I get anyway!
Have just looked at my RFT files. They have the MSWord icon but open in Wordpad! Weird!

I agree! I had tried going to Wordpad and then back to Notepad, and it made no difference.

You're right, it appears THAT is the icon for a TXT file! I've now gotten back onto my own machine, and sure enough that same icon is shown for TXT files on my machine.

I guess I somehow thought there was a problem on my friend's machine, but apparently not.

So, just close this thread. NOT A PROBLEM after all.

    Sorry for the distraction.
