    Using Easy Transfer

A couple of years ago, I used Easy Transfer to get the Windows 7 settings from my Win7 Desktop to my laptop and have now forgotten one important thing. I want to transfer those settings from my laptop to a new Desktop.

If I install all my programs on the new machine and then use Easy Transfer to get the settings form the laptop will it also pick up the various activations from the laptop. Most important, will it pick up the activation from Office 2010 or will I have to get a new license? I know I can activate Office on the new machine over the 'phone but I had just as soon not have to go through that step.

    Thank you.

No, it does not pick up product activation information. You need to activate Office on that new desktop separately.
