    Questions about default programs

Hi everybody, i have some questions about the following screenshots. First is, should i use all the defaults that are available for a program? i see some have 9 out maybe 19 defaults but to tell you the truth i have no idea if i should just leave it or if enabling all the defaults is worth doing.

I am not having any real problems and don't know how other people handle this.

The second question is about the screenshot on the left, it says unknown application with some of them on the right side , what should i do about that, or is that normal?

    Thank you very much.

You can leave them as is or you can pick a program to be your default, the choice is yours. If everything is ok, well then maybe you shouldn`t make any changes.

The pic on the right is asking you if you want to use Chrome as your default browser, once again the choice is up to you. Once you make a decision you won`t keep getting asked, and it`s perfectly normal for a program to ask you until you make a choice.

What about the "unknown programs" showing on the right side of the left screenshot pic?

    Hello Herbc,

The ones listed with "Unknown application" in your left screenshot means that they do not have a program associated with them. This is those specific file types' default setting. It's fine to leave them as is. :)
