    Windows Shell Common Dll Restore file type association restore.


    Hi, I have been quite playing with some file with an unknown extensions like .ctp for a cakePhp file. Then I accidentally choose to open it using shell32.dll, so after that whenever i try to open the file it giving me an error. how can i restore the default association type of the file which is the windows shell common dll?

    If you like, you could do a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before this happened to undo and fix it.

I changed the "open with" association of my htaccess to open with notepad... the file name (htaccess) suddenly disappeared. How do I bring it back to the default? I think the dll file is windows shell common, but I can't find it in the "open with"
