Hi I am new so I hope I'm doing this right. My files are permatley deleting instead of going to the recycle bin. I have checked to make sure the box to permately delet is not checked and I have tried a few other things (reboot in safe mode) and still not working. Any help would be appreciated.

Is this happening with all files, or just certain ones?
Is this happening from certain locations, or all locations that you deleted them from?
Do you also have the "Display delete confirmation dialog" box checked for each listed drive location?
Anything deleted from a removable drive (ex: USB drive) will always be automatically permanently deleted, and will not go to the Recycle Bin. Only files deleted from internal or SATA connected drives will go to the Recycle Bin first.
If the file you are deleting is larger than the max storage size of the Recycle Bin, then it will prompt you to permanently delete instead of going into the Recycle Bin.

Hi The files are from my hard drive and external hard drive and it's any files that I want to delete. I did change the max storage just to be on the safe side and the "Display delete confirmation dialog" box is unchecked. This just stared to happen about 3 or 4 days ago. The only thing I downloaded is Google Chrome. I don't know if that would have anything to do with it.
You would want to check the "Display delete confirmation dialog" box in order to get a prompt before they are deleted.
Unless the external HDD is connected via eSATA, it would be seen as a removable drive and anything deleted on it would be permanently deleted and not to the Recycle Bin.
Not sure about the OS drive.
If you like, you could try doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before this started happening to see if it may help.
