Fatal error C0000034 applying update operation 174 of 68677 (_0000...)

I keep getting this when trying to start my Advent notebook (I have Windows 7 home starter), and I can't do startup repair because it just freezes during 'Windows is loading files', in major need of help

Hi LiamCr, Welcome to the forums , A quick google search bought up this Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 installation fails with error code c0000034 Even though it's for a 64bit system it may be helpful to you

Thanks for the replies!

I can't boot in safe mode; but I have now managed to get to system restore which is 'attempting repairs' as of now. I'll try that link after if this doesn't work Pebbly, thanks again!

Remember if you can't get into Safe Mode, you can also run System Restore from the DVD or Repair CD System Recovery Options.

So make your System Repair Disk if you don't already have a Win7 installer DVD or stick.
