    Upgrading from HDD to SSD


    OK! FINALLY got my SSD to the manufacturer [LONG story about shipping issue] for warrenty

    What would be the best way to copy my Win7 to the SSD?

    I know to turn off the Defragging of C:, but what else should I do in preperation of this?

    If it's a Samsung the included software is excellent. I think you can d/l it and use it with any SSD.

    Karl/Joe, the best approach would be a nice fresh install rather than migrating the old install. You'll get the best the SSD can offer then. You might want to move Users data to a secondary HDD though, leaving the OS and programs on the SSD.

    I agree with Gary, a clean install is the best option.

    What should I do as prep?
    Settings I need to know are done?
    Tricks for speed during install?
