    Thats my plan only thing is I need to grab the win7 home premium 64bit iso online on a friends computer and buy a flashdrive and install the win 7 usb tool...that or I.can take it to a pro and have him fix it

    The only thing I could do was the dvd recovery media from hp. And now I can't cause the dvd drive is kaput. I can boot bios but windows refuses to boot

    What makes you think the DVD drive is messed up. Boot into BIOS setup to see that DVD drive is set first to boot, or trigger it using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key.

    Its set for first boot and I use boit menu to acces it once I select the dvd drive as my boot object and my computer lockes up and did nothibg for 3 hrs

    Try reinstalling the DVD drive. Try another DVD drive.

    Reinstall as in un hook it and rehok. And I only got 1dvd drive

    I did and I even swaped the connectiins between all 4 sata ports and nothin
