After logging in desktop appears for a second and screen goes blank

Hi. I have spend days on the internet looking for help and cannot get my problem solved. When I turn on my computer it boots up and lets me login. Then when my desktop starts to load the screen just goes blank and there is no cursor either. I tried to go into safe mode and after I login there it logs off and reboots into normal mode. I can login to safe mode with command prompt but nothing I have tried has worked. Could someone please help me. I am so frustrated and I need my computer for my sons schooling. Thank you in advance for any help. It is very much appreciated!

What have you tried already? How long has this been happening? If a recent thing, have you tried a system restore (from safe mode)? You could try running a sfc/scannow to find and hopefully repair any corrupted system files too. Heres a link to a tutorial on how to do that if you haven't before : SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Thank you for your response. I appreciate it very much. It's been probably a week and a half since it started it. I have been working on it for days. I have tried so many different things. I have tried any repair I could get to in the system. I did a sfc/scannow and no change. I finally got into my safe mode but I have to go task manager to do so. I think it has to do with the explorer.exe file because I have to add it as a new task and then safe mode will load. I went in to regedit and checked the shell and it only has the explorer.exe in it but it won't load into the task manager. I don't know what to do.

Don't fully understand. But sfc/scannow gave no integrity errors?
If you start explorer.exe in safe mode (using task manager) all is working fine? (Not all works because in safe mode)

After booting in normal mode you see desktop, you login. No desktop appears at all. Correct? Only a black screen.. no text cursor (top left), no mouse pointer. Nothing at all on screen. Can you press ctrl/alt/del to start taskmanager there?

sfc/scannow gave no integrity errors. When I boot into normal windows, it lets me log in and my desktop will show up for a couple seconds then I get a white blank screen with only the cursor and cannot do anything. So I have to do a ctrl-alt-del to get out of it. My destop appears again and stays until it shuts down.

Also, If I try to go into task manager in normal mode like I do to get into safe mode, it just goes to a white blank screen again.
