So an old comp of mine is showing BSOD during startup...how to backup?

    Hello all

An old comp of mine is showing BSOD during startup and I would like to take a look at the document and picture folders before I proceed with a wipe of the partition and reinstall.

What's the best boot cd or usb util which can allow me to copy/look(at) these files and allow me to back the files up onto an external usb disk without an OS? Many years back I used Hiren's bootcd util but I dont remember the name of the util. Ideally I would like to do with via a USB book disk.

    Thanks in advance!

You may follow this method using windows installer/repair disc...
Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

If you dont have windows installer/repair disc, http://www.puppylinux.com/ is a good one. Small and useful.
