Windows 7 Task Bar/Start Button Dont work!! Please Help!!

    Windows 7 Task Bar/Start Button Dont work!! Please Help!!


    So guys, a couple months ago i got this problem. The start button just stopped working! it clicks, but the leetle menu doesnt show up. also, the links on the taskbar work perfecly fine, buuuut when i minimize a window it is like closing it. it also does NOT work in safe mode, and i am pretty sure it isnt a virus(avast says so.) any help???

    Hi and welcome to the Forums ...... Have you tried running sfc/ scannow

    Yep. I have put in sfc -scannow into the terminal and nothing happened, evem after rebooting.

    Can you clarify that for me please .... Where you able to run sfc / scannow and did it find any errors ?

    yes, i was able to run it. no, it did not find any errors. what do i do???

    Does the Windows flag key work to open Start menu? Apart from Avast what else are you using ?

    Windows flag doesnt do anything either. apart from avast, i have ESET NOD 32.

    Did your PC come with Windows Ultimate pre installed as it looks low on specification to me? If no have you recently install Ultimate and where did you get the install disc from? Also have you installed 32 bit or 64bit?
