IconViewer Shell Extension

You could install "IconViewer" Shell Extension.

It adds a tab to the "Properties" window.
It lets you grab and save icon images from files (it's not restricted to dll files).

I already DID browse to "%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll and %SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll". I did that before I ever posted the first time . . . .says "no preview available".
