    Computer keeps rebooting and prompting start up repair.


    I have looked through this site and found a thread on it, but I literally can't get into safe mode to back up files. I had a feeling this would happen because the laptop was acting silly. I bought this comp off someone, it and the charger is all I have for it. It was working yesterday no pop ups or anything, but I accidentally (like an idiot) installed something that I knew was gonna give me trouble on the long run. I might have to fully clean it at some repair shop that I usually go to, but all I need to do is see if I can at least get to my files and save some things.

    On start while booting, I hit F8 and tried most of the options but the end result keeps showing a quick Blue Screen of Death and then restarts right back to start windows normally or start up repair. I tried hitting repair computer in order to get to system rectory but when I get there, I see nothing, no options at all. So I guess all hope is lost?

    Yeah, like I said, I have only the laptop, no disks or anything like that. I see the option for repair your computer, but when I click it, it brings me to the screen but shows no options. Any reason why that is? Without that page, I can't attempt the first link.

    Ok download this program on a working PC . Save the file to your flash Drive then plug the flash to the non working PC .

    Follow the instructions below

       Warning

    You will need a USB FLASH DRIVE


       Tip
    Download the Tool from a non infected PC


    Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

    32-bit Version OS Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

    64-Bit Version OS Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64


       Note
    Click the button and right-click Computer .Select Properties .Look for System Type: which will say 32-bit Operating System or 64-bit Operating System


    Plug the flash drive into the infected PC.

    Enter System Recovery Options.

    To enter System Recovery Options from the Advanced Boot Options:
    Restart the computer.
    As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until Advanced Boot Options appears.
    Use the arrow keys to select the Repair your computer menu item.
    Select US as the keyboard language settings, and then click Next.
    Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    Select your user account an click Next.

    To enter System Recovery Options by using Windows installation disc:
    Insert the installation disc.
    Restart your computer.
    If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc. If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or DVD, check your BIOS settings.
    Click Repair your computer.
    Select US as the keyboard language settings, and then click Next.
    Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    Select your user account and click Next.

    On the System Recovery Options menu you will get the following options:
    Startup Repair

    System Restore

    Windows Complete PC Restore

    Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool

    Command Prompt

    Select Command Prompt

    In the command window type e:\frst.exe (for x64 bit version type e:\frst64) and press Enter
       Note
    Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.

       Tip
    Type the commands below to see what your letter is for the USB drive and press ENTER after each command

    Code:
    Diskpart
List volume
    The tool will start to run.
    When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    Press Scan button.
    FRST will let you know when the scan is complete and has written the FRST.txt to file
    Please copy and paste both logs in your reply.(FRST.txt and Addition.txt)

    In addition here are other steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start which show you how to burn a Win7 installation DVD for your licensed version to boot to rescue your files, run Startup Repair to see if it will repair the OS, and if necessary run HP System Recovery (Do a Minimal Recovery without the bloatware) or get the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

    So I'm in the same predicament as the person before me. I know this is a very old post but I was wondering if there was anything you could help me with considering this issue. Also I would like to add that this started after it underwent an update last night.
