Encrypted Windows 7 partition will not boot after installing Ubuntu.

Windows 7 seems to be located in my /dev/sda1 partition. However, ever since I installed Ubuntu (not using wubi) my fully encrypted HDD/partition will not prompt me with the password but instead boots straight to ubuntu. Ubuntu does not even recognize my windows partition. More interestingly, I did a boot repair and these are the results that show:

    Ubuntu Pastebin

When I use my windows 7 DVD to repair my system it doesn't even show windows 7 is installed. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Do I need to use my encryption rescue disk? I have been trying everything and have not had much success. Thanks!

What encryption did you use? It sounds like GRUB overwrote the encrypted Windows MBR??? Im not sure it can be recovered......I would normally suggest this:

MBR - Restore Windows 7 Master Boot Record

But the encryption is the unknown here.......you might have to take some risks and experiment.

I used Truecrypt (encrypted full partition/drive). I have a truecrypt rescue disk and I'm going to try to decrypt it and restore the original master boot. Hopefully it works. Will have an update on this after I try it.

Well I tried to decrypt everything and then restore the mbr boot sequence but it didn't seem to work either . However, I did notice something interesting. I noticed that I am on partition/drive X: (where I installed ubuntu) while my windows 7 os system is on drive C:/. Could this be the reason why my bios is not finding Windows 7 OS? If so, how could I boot back to my C:/ drive?

Im not sure you can .........this is the sequence of events:

    1. You installed Windows 7
    2. You performed full disk encryption, including the Windows MBR
    3. You installed Ubuntu outside of the encrypted partition

Usually GRUB overwrites the Windows MBR .... In other I think it has overwritten part of your encrypted Windows 7 Partition, more specifically the critical MBR.........you see what I am getting at?

I would suggest posting about this here at the Truecrypt forums since this is quite a special problem:
