    super icon problem after virus

Hey. having a small problem with windows 7 on a customers dell laptop. Had a virus which was succesfully removed. It left a couple of messed up settings. One thing is the icons on the desktop are there and work when you click on them but they have no actual picture to the icon but there are the words, weird I know. Second is everytime we try and change the desktop background or theme it just stays as a black screen, but it works fine for solid colors. Any help would be great.

For you icons look through this Tutorial.

    Icon Cache - Rebuild

I personally don't trust restore points after a infection because they can also be infected.

You're better off doing a Clean Reinstall as there may well be other damage.

Confirm it's clean now one more time with Malwarebytes, SUPERAntiSpyware and the solution recommended for the specfic infection - found by googling it's name or asking our Security forum experts.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command to check for system file damage.
