Yes Greg the install was perfect and everything was working but we hadn't put Incredimail in. I have the paid for version from the Incredimail site and do not get added spyware etc. I don't get the pop up ads that the free version had. I know you consider it crap and I know it has lots of problems but I am 95% housebound. I have not even been able to sit in the garden under the tree this year. No recliner there. I can't see well because of muscle spasms behind my eyes. On the PC I often have the view set to 150 while the screen resolution is 1024X700 something. I can't sit and read. I listen to audio books and what am I to do with my hands. I have incredimail and make stationery that can be used in most email programs. I must do something with my life. Incredimail for some reason will not connect the my server. I have called my server 2 times and we have gone over every single thing that I needed to connect. Port numbers etc. I am correct. I put in Mozilla Firefox as my server said they told people to put that in and Thunderbird. Ok both are in. Thunderbird connected to my server account using the same numbers I used in Incredimail. It is not some crap in the pc. I ran scans after I put that in and all were clean. If I go back to the restore point I will lose Thunderbird etc and still have Incredimail to install again. I am sorry you are upset. I know you spent hours and hours working with me and more working in the pc. As I said I must do something!
Yup I broke the law and should be locked up. I didn't know about YouTube and now I do. Good grief.

Why do you assume I am upset? I am not upset at all, just making neutral observations.

The solution to reverse something which you suspect has caused issues is to System Restore. It is your first line of defense. That's why I configured 15% of your 1tb HD for System Restore image storage so it would store more points and for longer to get back to a safe configuration if needed. It's there to be used any time something you do messes up performance, so you can do it over (or differntly) with our help until it is stable.

You also have a Win7 backup image stored on your external HD that can be used to reimage to when it was running perfectly if the Restore Points won't work and/or it's become unbootable.

Bonnie, why not try a web mail program like Yahoo or Outlook to see how it suits you. This is another suggestion I made early in the thread to make your life easier. None of this has any effect whatsoever on your disability nor does it come into play when it comes to how you get your mail. You need a backup mail address anyway. If it suits you then you can phase over - no need to jump all at once.

Yahoo has many different stationeries in the free edition.

I have all my mail coming into Mozilla ThunderBird now. I don't care if I don't get mail into my Incredimail I want to be able to send out letters I make. I can spend hours making frames and finding pictures etc. Thunderbird was suggested by both my server and Incredimail. It took me hours to get ThunderBird in and I don't want to start over. My mail is often full of pictures and things. I hate Yahoo and Hotmail it is hard to see them and makes something that should be fun tedious. If I restore back now just because 1 program doesn't work how will that help? That is the point I am making everything else works great. I like most of what I have learned about ThunderBird. I am sorry I thought you sounded upset that I wrecked what you did and I didn't. I have checked that Manage ad ons over and over and nothing has been added. I configure myself rather than chose the recommended install and you taught me that. I really think you and the others that helped are wonderful. I know I stumble a lot in what I do. I am often feeling like there is a fog around me. I wanted you to know the crap I put in gives me things to do and to get away from the real world and forget how I feel.

May I ask what took hours installing Thunderbird? It's a simple download and install, isn't it? If you explain what took hours maybe we'll understand what changes were made that are causing your browser to crash. This shouldn't happen.

Since you have Thunderbird you might also consider Firefox which I and many others here use for its better performance and stability. You'd then also have a back up browser. Adding a second browser also the way we troubleshoot browser crashes to see if it's solely a browser problem or a System problem.

I'm glad you're sticking with the safe downloading and install methods I showed you.

Can you explain a bit more what is happening with these crashes? If they persist would you install Firefox and let it become your default browser until you see if it resolves the problem? We will help you set it up if you want, but its pretty simple and self-explanatory during install.

For some reason ThunderBird did not find the server. I tried over and over and finally shut down and went away from the pc. 2 hours later I came in and turned on the pc and there was ThunderBird installed. No idea what happened to make it go in when I was shut down. I did install Mozilla Firefox. My server and my friend told me that IE was crashing for a lot of people and with Firefox that hasn't been happening. Most of the on the net people have said they have changed over to that. Of course now nothing is crashing. Most of it was in Incredimail just not responding and shutting down. Then with the reinstall of course it was gone and putting in the new it doesn't work good enough to see what happens. I am trying to get used to Firefox it is so different and I haven't found things I have to read through the instructions on the net. I am just to exhausted to do so now. My heating pads in bed are heating up and my pain pill is starting to work it is time to get in bed and not dream except for sweet dreams tonight. See I do take your advice. My new mentor. Good Night

Hi Bonnie Jean. I have had some success with DVDFlick in the past. It definitely supports PAL and is free. DVD Flick

    Hi Bonnie Jean
From your last post it does seem as if you are terribly confused between your server, your browsers and your email programs. Would you like one of us to give you a quick guide to all three? I'm quite happy to type it out and then let others edit if they wish!

I had firefox and thunderbird mixed up. I got it now but sure hate both. I know I have to learn how to do things but there is no nice file, edit, favorite etc tab and I am lost without it. I am getting help in setting up my Incredimail now from Incredimail support. But she needs screen shots of the Thunderbird settings and I don't know how to find them. I know I have Firefox browser but doubt I will use it much as I do find things I like to put in my favorites so I can save them and not have to look for them on line again. I don't find anything but bookmarks and really not much help in finding anything else. I will get guides on line and see if they make sense. But at least Thunderbird is piling in the mail like crazy. Do you anything about gmail? When mail comes in and should go to the inbox it spreads out from in box to important to all mail and into trash. Some mails are in each of them some only in one. I have gotten help pages on how to fix it but it doesn't help. I stopped the pop because of that and closed out all but 2 gmails because of this mess. It just carried on over all we have done here. If you think there are things I should know feel free to send whatever it is. I know a new program or browser etc all take time to learn. I have had IM since I got a computer as I wanted to make my own stationery. So have only had a Yahoo that I sent news letters and things I could go and look at fast and used it as a place that kept most of the spam away. I had several gmail accounts and had all mail saved. That way I could go back and find info that came in to use back in some groups I belong to. So I divided my groups up into the gmail and I saved lots of looking when it was only 1 or 2 emails coming into 1 gmail. I have had to leave most places now I am no longer able to keep up but would like to stay with the 3 I am in and have my mail saved on line until I delete it, but popped into my IM so I can read it from one place. If that makes sense. Had to do some things today and hurt bad but so normal if I wait till I don't I will never get on here. Thanks Mitchell.
