Open up an Elevated Command Prompt. Click on in type CMD . Right click on CMD under Programs (1) choose . On the User Access Control window click on the Yes button . Command Prompt opens up to C:\Windows\System32>_

Type in SFC /scannow and press [ENTER]

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Take a look at this link below

    Take Ownership Shortcut

Then right click on the file(s) and choose take Ownership . You see a command prompt open up run its thing and close then try to burn the files .

It didn't do what you said. I saved it to the desktop and right clicked but there was no take ownership so I checked the page I downloaded it from and it said I had to click merge and when I did that it gave a notice that it was applied to the registery. I rebooted and the video's will not burn. The avi files I downloaded from You Tube go on the convertXto dvd program just fine.

Wow that was weird. I did as you said and the video showed up on the registery saying I was taking ownership and under neath that came a line that said access was denied! I was going to copy it just as it was written but when I tried to move this a bit the registery closed. When I chose another video and did the take ownership there was just a quick flash of black that was like a ghost and it never showed an open registery and when I tried to put them on the program it was again denied. I am a headache aren't I? sorry.

I decided to burn a dvd with those you tube avi files and while it looks like it will start burning it went sooo fast and said it was finished but there was nothing on the dvd. I just tried it again and it said it is converting and it will be 1 hour. I will see and let you know what is happening. Thank you.

    converter won't work at all!!

While it looked like the conversion would work it stopped and I copied off and enlarged it for you to see.
Maybe this will help. Wish I could find a freeware burner to do dvd's but I haven't seen one. This lady is broke. sigh
