Having seen, rather read :), all that has happened in this thread, I would think that the OP should first run the manufacturer's diagnostic/repair utility on the HDD and clear it. Even a new HDD may be DOA. ( I have just successfully formatted a WD HDD running PW from a bootable pen drive, but repeated attempts to install Windows from a bootable pen drive - by whichever program I created the bootable pen drive - failed. Running a Quick Test brought the error, read element failed . Now the user is running the extended test. I presume wiping the HDD clean also is no guarantee that the HDD is OK)
