You DO NOT defrag a solid state drive.
I'd just use hard drive letters to X Y Z if needed, and never use them, never point anything towards them, should be fine.
I recall a utility I used previously, that allowed you to hide drive letters from explorer, also, was simply of matter of clicking check boxes next to letters, forget which one though.
Mate so easy get Partition Wizard Best Free Partition Manager Freeware and free partition magic for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition.
open it right click on the partition you want nameless (I don't know if it will do it with the boot drive - but) click on Change letter - the box will tell you the current letter and None will be in the box just hit OK and the letter will be gone.
To give it a name again reverse the process only it will open with a default letter leave it at that if you like or you can pick what letter is available and then OK:)
PS you cannot do that with the boot drive letter
A pleasure drugo if you want a another litle gem - my bible -
Optimize Windows 7[2]=Performance Maintenance great stuff if you don't mind losing some of the "bling" like transparency
