Unable to delete, rename, or move folders in Windows 7

    Okay,

I have been scouring the net for the past 3 days nonstop to figure out this issue. I've tried literally everything. I am unable to delete, rename, or move folders in Windows 7. I've tried disabling thumbnail preview, I've cleared my thumbnail cache, I've run CCleaner, rebooted my computer, etc. I'm starting to get really frustrated.
This seems to be a big issue for many people but Microsoft has never put out an official fix for it, it seems.

Any help would be appreciated. So far, I'm noticing the issue on my Desktop and Documents folders.

Hello lechatnoir, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, download and merge the .reg file for the listed folder option in the tutorial below. It will restore it's default associations and registry entries to hopefully fix this for you.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

    Hope this helps, :)
