Very variable startup speed
Hi,
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on a 1.8 Tb Hard Drive of which only 500 gb is formatted.
I bought the PC from Aria in Manchester, UK in May.
Computer has 16 Gb RAM.
As far as I know the drivers etc. and Windows updates are all up to date.
The think I noticed as soon as I got the PC is that the fan makes a lot of noise, and sometimes, maybe when it is working harder, the fan makes even more noise.
Anyway, when I turn on the PC, often it takes about 2 or 3 minutes to get to the login screen, from which I can get into Windows.
This morning it took about 30 seconds, it was very fast. It is rarely this fast though.
The HDD is not very full (67 Gb used out of 500). I don't use the PC for much other than email and playing Minecraft.
I can't work out why most of the time it starts up pretty slowly (much slower than when I had XP on it), and sometimes it starts up very fast, like this morning.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you
