    Hello Mitchell65,

Have you also set Turn Off Hard Disk After to Never?

Good luck and keep us posted,

Well tthe original problem seems to be OK but now I get evry so often on boot up, I get to the Welcome Screen and then have the "continuous turning curser". The only thing I can do is to reset and then choose "Open Windows Normally" and all works normally. On a normal boot up I don't see the welcome screen at all. Normally my system boots up very fast from the SSD. Takes about 35 seconds! As an extra sometimes after boot up and my desktop appears on double clicking the Windows Live Mail icon the system freezes and again I have to force a shut down. When it freezes I get the semi opaque look that appears when you open the Snipping Tool. I can't use Ctrl + Alt + Del either. Again I have to shut down by using the power button on the case.
    Any ideas please?

    Hello Mitchell65,

Good to hear that the original problem is solved; not so good to hear that there is a new issue.
I am afraid that I currently do not have any idea in what might be causing your new issue, so I recommend you to make a new thread and link this thread in your OP so that everyone will be able to see the steps we covered.

Good luck and my apologies that I could not be of further assistance,
