I want that IE has speed dial like Opera. And not just 9 window speed dial, i want more. :)
How about allowing the ability to rename a shortcut ....
Without having it disappear off the desktop.
Allow desktop image to be changed in Windows7 Starter edition. I've already seen several disappointed people post questions about why they can't change their background on their new netbook.
Bring back the Vista feature that automatically opens the folder just created with the "New Folder" command in both Explorer and any save file dialog.
Also allow explorer to individually remember its window configuration when opened from different areas. For instance I open explorer normally, and want it to have the tree displayed in the left pane, and the window to be positioned and sized for my file management tasks. I also open Explorer by double clicking on the tray icon of my Dropbox account, and when I do this I want a simple window without the tree panel and positioned right above the tray where the Dropbox icon is. Vista remembers my Explorer window config desires, but Seven does not.
Oh, and bring back toolbar icons in all applications, including Explorer and Live Mail. Icons provide visual clues that simple text does not, allowing instant recognition of the tool bar commands.
Make explorer windows remember position and size for each separate folder, as they did in Vista. Or at least give us an option.

Example, if I have desktop shortcuts to several different local folders, and I open them all via those shortcuts and position them in certain key areas/sizes around my screen, and then close the explorer windows one by one, next time I launch each of those shortcuts the folders will all remember the size and position of the LAST explorer window launched, rather than remembering a unique size/position for each folder.
When customizing the appearance of a folder by adding a picture ....
Put the picture on the folder .. not in it.
What he said...
Make library view options (including sorting, grouping etc.) separate from the sub-folders' ones.
E.g. I wanted to group the content of one sub-folder in my Pictures library, but I couldn't because it would apply to the whole library which I absolutely don't need. Even if I open a folder that is included in a library manually from C: and set some options for it and then open it from the library, the "personal" setting of the folder are ignored!
- Being able to make the start menu as small as you want
- Making it so All Programs shows up automatically in the start menu (kind of useless when you have the superbar to make use of programs you use most)
