AHCI Infinite Boot Loop
I have installed a Samsung 840 Pro 120Gb SSD into my ZT System machine and am trying to get around a clean install. The drive runs but I cannot get AHCI to work when I turn it on in the AMI BIOS. I have made the registry tweaks, three but I cannot remember which three at this time as I am at work and not in front of the machine at home. I also downloaded the latest AMD drivers for my 750G SB700 chipset and installed it (I assume it installed correctly even though kbb something or other now routinely crashes after boot). Problem is when I change the BIOS setting to AHCI, the BIOS boots, next screen is initializing AHCI, all drives are then listed and Windows begins booting. A few seconds later the Windows 7 icon freezes, then a blue screen flashes much t0o fast to read, not a BSOD and the BIOS boots again beginning an infinite loop. I cannot activate the scroll lock key in the BIOS so I have unsuccessfully tried to stop the blue screen with the pause key. I have not been able to locate any log files that tell me the information on the blue screen. I am suspecting it maybe a driver issue. Going into safe mode and logging does not help in that each Win boot the file is overwritten so when I am forced to return the BIOS from AHCI to IDE that boot is the safe mode file that is left. At this time I am seriously considering a fresh install but would much rather not do that. The machine has been on line almost 4 years now. Does anyone have any fresh ideas or possibly a way to scroll through the boot process so as to be able to read the blue screen that is flashing or a log file with such. I know it is information telling me the problem.
