    Random shortcuts popping up

Hello! I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm new to Windows 7 I just installed it a few days ago so I don't know much about it. My problem is that random shortcuts keep popping up in my start menu like in the shortcut like in the screenshot and I'm not even sure what they are from or why the keep appearing. They keep showing up on the desktop and my documents and.. well basically everywhere else too.

Tick on the Start Orb. In a empty spot on the right side right tick and select properties. You should get this. Notice no check marks.

Recent Items - Turn On or Off

Recent Programs - Turn On or Off

Thank you! I hope they won't show up anymore, as for those that are already there do I have to delete them one by one?

I would shut down the computer and do a restart first. Then check and see if they are still there. If so you decide if you want them or not and delete the ones you don't want.
What I think was happening; every thing you opened was added to the start menu and shutting down and starting will remove such things.

The recent items doesn't seem to be the problem as it does not show up with a yellow folder but with a normal icon, also when I right clicked on them it told me that they come from a folder called ProgramData not the recent items one, that one being empty.
