You are trying to install a Acer OEM/SLP operating system on a Gateway PC.
    Thats not going to work.
You need to find the COA sticker from Microsoft that is on the Gateway PC and use it to install Windows on the Gateway PC as per Gregs post #10.

    From post #9
    Oh I forgot it's a Gateway PC

You cannot Clean Reinstall via F8, that's nonsense.

You've been given everything you need to correctly Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 following the steps in the blue link which will provide a perfect install.

If you install the licensed version on the COA sticker then it will always activate. We've never had a case where it didn't in tens of thousands of installs we've helped with here.

What is the licensed version on the COA sticker?

I have a 150gb HD that I use for files and such. I own a cellphone store and have some "tokens" and some files that are needed to make payments and activate phones. Will all of the be saved when I reinstall Windows?

By the way, where would I find the version #?

The version is listed on the COA sticker above the Product Key. it's a name and not a number. Make sure the Product Key is readable.

All of this including how to back up your data and gather your program installers is in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If you use special programs for your business then you'll need to find their installers and be ready to reinstall them after Win7 reinstall, then copy the data back in which is used with those programs.

As always and as stated in tutorial, its' best to organize yourself by sorting all data into Your Name User folders: Desktop, Docs, Pics, Music, Downloads (for installers), etc.

Then in step 1 you'd want Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1 English Official ISO download.

However if you have 4gb or less RAM I'd also consider using 32 bit which sometimes yields better performance, and which you can use with the same Product Key on COA sticker (it is readable, right?).

This time after Custom install where you delete all partitions, first thing enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) and do all rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates. After requested reboots, go right back and keep checking for Updates until there are no more.

The main reason for activation problem is typing wrong characters, so triple check your input.

Acer owns Gateway, which may have led to some confusion.

An activation expert may be able to help with your not valid issue.
