    Incorrect cursor previews in Explorer

I have a weird problem, well it isn't really much of a problem as it doesn't bother me but it is rather weird...
The screenshot explains it all; the cursor previews are all mixed up in the Explorer window.
    Any idea why?

    Hello M4dn3ss,

See if rebuilding the icon cache will fix this.
Out of curiosity I looked and saw the same type of issue you see.
Option ONE using the BAT file worked for me, and it's nice to have the bat file anytime you might need a rebuild...

    Icon Cache - Rebuild

    Hope this helps,

Well I noticed the problem cropped up again... I guess it's unavoidable...

I just looked at my icon for your example, and it is still showing correctly after I rebuilt the Icon cache 4 days ago.
I haven't installed any new programs or updates since then on this PC.
Searching for what might cause the issue, some folks believe installing a new program could cause this corruption...

Have you installed any new programs, or updates since you last rebuilt the Icon Cache?

I wouldn't have noticed this issue, other than reading this thread and looking on my PC out of curiosity.
As long as my Taskbar, Menu, toolbars, etc. display correctly, I might never have seen this "corruption"...unless I started searching for icons for some reason...

I'll check after the next Patch Tuesday updates to see if there is any corruption...

No idea, just using my computer like I normally do. Actually I was making some icons in IcoFX, and I know Windows is notorious for not refreshing icons (like when you save an icon, then you edit it and update it, if the file name is the same the preview in explorer will be the original version of the icon, so you have to rename it... annoying right?)

I've never done that...but it does sound annoying.
While it is a pita, maybe you have to rebuild icon cache after editing icons to clean things up...
