Windows 7: I have a problem that is hard to be solved :( [BDAV file]

Win 7 Pro 64-bit 7601

to rename the extension to .mpeg you need to see the extension first.

Write "folder options" in Start searchbox and press Enter, then from the window that pops up select the View tab and scroll down until you see "hide extensions for known filetypes", uncheck the box, press OK.

Then you see the extension .ts and you can rename it to .mpeg.

Although it is probably better to look in the TV's settings if it can record in other more readable formats.

To me this sounds like an encrypted movie, which is not uncommon for smart-ish TVs. What they record is readable only on the same TV that recorded it. Also if the TV signal is digital, it can carry orders to encrypt what you record (used when showing movies usually). Piracy and whatever.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1

It must be a very short video clip as it appears to be HD format and is only 6.86mb. I have converted to M2TS but when i try to import to my video editor I get the "Contains no video content" message. I think it is encrypted too!

The files recorded from a TV set usually don't play on other devices like PC or even on other TV different from that it's recorded from.
