Adjustment to Split Screen View in Windows 7

I know how to view split screen by using WINDOWS key and left/right navigation arrow keys. The problem is is that the left and right screen,as expected, does not fit on a screen half the size. Is there anyway to shrink the left and right sides so that the whole screen, though smaller fits on the left half and the the whole smaller screen fits on the right half?

Try putting your cursor on one of the corners, then drag to the size you want.

What Dude instructed me to do makes the screen smaller, but I want to shrink the screen. If I see a football game on full screen, I will see goal line to goal line(100 yards). If I adjust the screen as posted above, I will only see goal line to mid field on half the screen. I want to see the whole 100 yard field on a smaller screen.
