Help and Support can't go online.
Hi
Windows Help and Support can't connect online for Help. Offline works. Even if I go in the bottom right corner and select Get online Help, it never connects. I have sometime to use it but I remember it worked quite a while ago. I tried sfc scan but didn't help. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks |

Can you access the internet normally? Do you maybe have a firewall that is blocking this?

Shut down your machine, Unplug-Hold the power button down for 30/45 seconds (Power Drain)
Power up and Tap the F8 key continuously until you see a black page with white text, Use the down arrow key to toggle to safe mode with networking/ hit the enter key. Login as usual Safe mode and with networking, https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html |

Sorry I don't know who your replying to ?
Safe mode with networking only loads a minimal set of drivers and applications/ designed for infected systems. The (power drain) is for highly effected systems. |

Actually..... I'm having the same"problem". "You're not connected to online Help, which shows you our latest content. Check your Internet connection, and then try to connect to online Help again. If you still see this message, the online Help service might be temporarily unavailable." Is what I'm getting from them. How long has this been going on for you? I'm assuming this is temporary but have you been to MS's Fixit center? Heres a link : http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/

@ThrashZone , I replied to you. I see no relevance in the solution you offer. Thanks anyway. My system isnt infected.
@indiacarnie, I just found out. If others have this too, maybe its MS server then. |

If you can't get an internet connection with safe mode with networking I'd also suspect an isp problem. Cheers for jumping to the next trouble shooting step ![]() |

One is my signature machine with Win 7 Pro 32-bit, the other is Win 7 Home 64 bit. The 32-bit machine is updated monthly. The 64-bit machine hasn't been updated since before Win 10 was released. Both machines are... |

Windows Support online misidentifies my operating system What do I have to edit so Windows Support correctly reads my operating system as being Windows 7 Pro, instead of incorrectly thinking it is still Windows XP? There is no old OS listed in the boot area. In environmental background I changed the OS to Windows_NT_6.1 instead of what it was... |
