Trouble re-sending invitation for remote assistance in windows 7.

A year and a half ago I connected to my friends computer via remote assistance to help him with a problem.
He did so by way of sending me an invitation via an assistance email attachment. We connected fine I helped him with his problem and all was well.

He needed assistance again last night and he went to send me an invitaion just like we did last time but there is a problem. When he types in "Windows remote assistance" in the search box and brings up windows remote assistance he does not get the box that says "Do you want to ask for or offer help?" He is getting some other box. Like he has already sent an invitation or something. Wish I could give more detail by my friend is HIGHLY computer illiterate.

I still had the email with the invitation file that he sent me last year and I clicked on it but it is asking for the password that we originally used to connect. Neither of us know what that password is.

Is there anyway that he can "reset" his invitation settings so that we can start from scratch and he can re-send an invitation to me?

    Thanks
P.S. Both of our computers are running windows 7.

The simplest solution would be to use TeamViewer.
Have the HOST computer i.e. your friend download and run TeamViewer QuickSupport.
Have him email you the ID and Password that gets generated when he launches the application.

On your end download TeamViewer full version.
Enter the password you get from the host PC into the Partner ID field.

Then the password into the dialogue box which pops up and away you go :) .

    What do you mean?
Once you connect to your friends PC there is no need in Windows remote assistance any more.
