Extraction and conversion of downloaded files

I have recently needed to download YouTube videos which I need to convert to MPEG format to enable an
old retired friend who does not have a computer to view on his TV screen via a CD/DVD player.
In order to accomplish this I have installed FastestTube software which allows downloads to a selected media player.
Having acheived this I had assumed that I would be able to access the downloaded files in the selected player and convert them to MPEG by means of an an appropriate media converter.
Unfortunately no such separate file appear to exist and one is unable to open the file in the downloads library.

I would therefore be grateful if somone could suggest an alternative method of download to achieve what I am endeavouring to do.

I would search the forums on www.videohelp.com

It's probably been answered there in the past. If not you can post the question and get it read by video format knowledgable people. Also lots of free tools there with a database to find the right one(s). :)

    Thank you WHS,

This is indeed what I am looking for, software downloaded.
I have quite a few rather large media files located in my downloads library which I am unable to access.
Could you please provide me with some guidance as to where
These files are lodged in the UM Player.

I am sorry, but I really don't know where those files could be.
