Help with performance information and tools - Advanced System Info

I am curious about the Windows Error Reporting under the Software category in System Information from the control panel Performance Information & Tools Advanced System Information.

I see quite a few errors, which I don't recall seeing in exhaustive searches through all the Event Logs. But no idea if these are pertinent or useful, or how to save or print this report, etc. I have not found anything useful on online about this particular error reporting.

Note that my even finding this info is due to my having many system crashes BlackSOD, new GraySOD, etc. for weeks now, with no useful errors in the Event Log, no diagnostics report significant errors (only driver performance delays from standby mode, which I don't even notice). I am resisting a reinstall of Windows 7 until I get another hard drive, and still hoping to find a simple manageable cause for my problems.

Have you tried a basic registry cleaner like CCLeaner? Bad drivers can very hard to find - I've never had much luck with Windows error reporting myself. The time it takes to sleuth it and fix it, is less than the time it takes to restore or reinstall.

Thank you, I think I have tried almost everything... including getting some help with minidump info. A disk check two months ago cleared up the BlueSOD, but not the black screen or the (new) grey grid screen crashes that are becoming more frequent. These may correlate with photo/image viewing or manipulation (but that may be just my perception). I am planning a reinstall of Windows when the new hard disk arrives. Next plan, as my system is a bit old, is a new video card? and/or a new motherboard ... aargh!

Actually no BSOD, just black screens, hung, no dumps

My problem is not actually Blue SOD, but black SOD :-(

I am getting a black screen frequently, seems to be when using either Windows Photo Viewer (via Explorer "Preview") OR Corel PSP X5 my image s/w of choice.

System is hung, does not respond to Ctrl-Alt-Del, etc. Generally I have to recycle power and restart. There are no error events in the system log prior to shutdown (& often no info or other events for 4-10 minutes prior to black screen), but at reboot I get an error that indicates an unexpected shutdown at approx. the time of the black screen. No other information, and NO dump files.

Black screens may be connected to power save sleep

After some further consideration, and desperation, I tried turning OFF all system power saving sleep. And VOILA, no black screens for 36 hours! There was nothing in logs about power saving sleep... and just the references to unexpected shutdown on reboots, so this was certainly not a case of normal power saving sleep which logs a standard series of info msgs. But I will take what I can get...
