Hello Grim3271 and welcome to the SevenForums,

When are you getting the black screen, right after boot, after the Windows logo or after logging in?
Did you recently install any programs or made any hardware changes?
Also, please fill in your system specs as close as possible (Go to your profile > click on System Spec and then edit by clicking on the pencil icon).

Good luck and keep us posted,
    Nommy

I tried most of these steps. Well actually I tried what did not require a CD or a DVD. Actually. If I had a USB Flash drive, I'd install puppy Linux and some pirated windows seven. But my mother is refusing to give me her USB drive

why pirated, if the lappy came with windows seven there should be a product code for windows ultimate, professional, whatever came with the lappy, you can get free and legal ISO files from here >> >> Windows 7 SP1_Refresh ISO - WinCert.net Forums
just activate with that code, unless, of course, it came with windows 8, then your outta luck
