System shut off during McAfee uninstall, can't run system restore

So, about an hour and a half ago now, I was tasked to help remove some annoying anti-virus stuff from my mom's computer. So, I start uninstalling McAfee. At this point the cord was stretching across the room, so I decided I'd pull out the charger to put it on my lap. I didn't realize the battery was missing, so it shut off. I knew right then and there that that wasn't good. So, I started it back up, got to the start screen with the familiar four spheres, then once the flag was completed, it switched to a dark gray screen, with the cursor still there. Let it stay there a while, nothing happened. At this point I knew I should just jump straight to a system restore. So I made a system repair disc with my laptop, went to the system repair settings, and tried to repair it first. It didn't even detect an error with start-up, so it's something unrelated to the startup process. I then continued to try a system restore from a few hours prior. I got an error message, and it said something along the lines of "Couldn't extract file (D:\Program Files\mcafee\msk\mskLI.inf)". I don't know what it would actually say in English, since the system is Norwegian, but that's what the wording translated to anyway. Tried with older restore points, and the same thing happened to all of them. Do I have to resort to reverting to factory settings? Is there something else that can be done to fix it? Am I just dumb?

HP has the worst load of bloatware and useless duplicate utilties that interfere with better versions in WIn7, so I'd skip to the steps to rescue your files and Clean Reinstall with deleting all partitions. Everything needed is provided in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Okay, because I don't have access to an OS CD (the OS was on the computer when it was purchased from the store), I decided to just try to revert it to factory settings. This was clearly a bad idea, as over halfway through, it said something along the lines of being unable to install Windows on that computer. When I restarted it, it simply says that I should restart and try again. Of course, nothing happens. I boot onto the repair disc again, run the repair, can't find any problems, I run sfc /scannow /offbootdir=d:\ /offwindir=d:\windows, it says there's a current repair running, and that I have to restart the computer. I can't open up the BIOS menu either, for whatever reason. Is there ANYTHING I can do? I have the code thing under the computer, is there anywhere I can input it to get the ISO file or something, to burn it onto a disc? I would've even considered pirating at this point, but finding a torrent for a Norwegian 64 bit Home Premium is nigh impossible.

I found a legal windows 7 pro ISO in norweigen, can you unlock all lower class OS's like you can do with ultimate?

Yes, as I said above unlocking all versions using eicfg removal tool provides a menu to choose your licensed version.

Fine. Thank you. But honestly, calling me dumb doesn't help. I tried to find a way to get the iso, and didn't realize that you could downgrade. Guess I'm an idiot. I went to the site you linked. Instead of going with professional, I decided to look for home premium. I couldn't find it anywhere, and found nothing about being able to downgrade where I found ones for professional. Stupid me didn't think to specifically search for that. I'll try it in the morning. If it's not too late, of course.

I said it would be dumb to reinstall pirate Win7 when you own a license for that version for the life of the PC to reinstall as often as you want and in the way you want. Obviously I wasn't referring to you since you are trying to do it the legal way. But even discussing it could have gotten you banned, so i would let it drop like I did.

Are you clear now on how to unlock Home Premium in the Professional ISO so you can reinstall it to activate with the Product Key on your COA sticker?

The Norweigian ISO is provided at the link in Step 1 but only in Professional. So Download Windows 7 Professional N x64 SP1 U (media refresh) X17-59383.iso then run the eicfg removal tool on the ISO which will unlock all versions so you get a menu to choose your licensed version during install.

Be sure to stick with the steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
which shows how to rescue your files if needed from unbootable Win7, including some program data you might need like email address book, etc.

During booted Custom Clean Install Windows 7 at Steps 7 and 8 use the Drive Options to delete all partitions, create and format New as you desire, or just click Next in the unallocated space to have the installer do it for you and begin install.

Once it's installed, have the wireless driver in your backup so if it isn't provided during install you can install it, or plug in by wire since there is a greater chance the ethernet driver will be delivered during install. Then once online enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) and run all rounds of Important and Optional Updates. After requested reboots, go back to Check for Updates until there are no more. Then any drivers still missing in Device Manager can be imported from the HP Downloads webpage for your model.
