Did you first search for the driver by clicking Search Automatically on the Device's Driver tab? That's the button that's shown above the one circled in red here:

Always search for the driver first using Windows Updates as this is how Win7 delivers drivers for the first driver-complete OS.

Enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) then set Updates to Automatic and Check for Updates, install all Important and Optional until there are no more.

I'm a bit skeptical that the automatic updates would give him a driver for a device that has no windows 7 driver AND is from a mostly-dead manufacturer.

    Still, I'm open to surprises.

    Hiya Bob -

Dell will be surprised to know they're mostly dead. However their lemon ratio has made them dead to many in recent years. I don't think I'd buy one after I had to ship my Dad's back 5 years ago which made me look kinda bad as a son.

I get all the drivers frequently via installer and Updates on my Optiplex reinstalls, probably because they are so heavily used by business and schools which wanted to upgrade to Seven without changing hardware. I'm using one now at Boston University.

    Great work lately!

    haha, thanks!

The card we were talking about is not from dell. In the op he states that he installed an aftermarket card (and linked the product on the site of the card's OEM which is ECS), the actual graphics chip manufacturer is SIS, that afaik is dead at least in the graphics and chipsets trade since 6+ years ago.

Besides, the rig is from 2001 or so. 1.8GHz P4 and 512 mb of max supported ram... POWAAAA!!!

Ahh, gotcha. Sorry I thought you were referring to the PC OEM and not the card. Since you've kindly provided the card's driver, I was only addressing the other drivers for Optiplex which I've done a lot of.
