Move active software to icons

Ok, i have 2 server softwares on the taskbar, and they are quite annoying as they take a lot of space. is there a way to move them and make them into icons? so i can see them as small icons on the right side of the taskbar instead of large pictures?

Hello KinoDro.

The "From" you want to move the items is the taskbar. It contains All the active windows, Minimized windows, and pinned programs. So if an item is pinned (the two items are seemed to be pinned) it will be there. Similarly active (whether minimized or not .... like Opera and Skype as per your screenshot) program windows are also there.

The "to" you want to move is the notification area (also called system tray). It contains items showing status information and sometimes items always running in the background.

So what you want to achieve is no possible, as these two places are for two different kind of items.

Exceptions are there, obviously. Like Winamp, like Handbrake. If those are minimized, those are placed in the notification area, not on the taskbar. But overall and as a whole, it is the general rule that these two places are designed for different type of items.

Separate quick-launch icons on the taskbar with active windows.
Hi, The image below shows my current taskbar when I open a window that has a quick-launch icon (e.g. Opera) as you can see it combines the window and the quick-launch icon together however I would like it to create a separate taskbar item rather than doing this. Would this be possible? Are there...
