    reboots when accessing >control panel>programs>uninstall a program

    Hi guys

I'm not too sure when this problem actuall started - maybe a few months ago, but it's starting to become a real issue.

Whenever I try to uninstall a program through control panel>programs>uninstall a program my system reboots the moment I click on "uninstall a program".

I have searched around the net a bit and haven't found the exact problem, but have worked through a couple of soloutions to similar problems with no luck.

I have already tried to turn off "automatically restart" on system failure through system properties, only to find it was already set to "write an event to the system log".

I have not made any changes to the system (that I know off) while trying to fix this problem.

The reason this is becoming an issue is that I'm having major troubles with the latest version (7.0 and above) of roboform password manager clashing with internet explorer. Whether the 2 issues are linked is well beyound my knowledge level

I read in another thread it was recommended to run the sfc /scannow multiple times, which I have done with the same results of errors found, but not fixed.

Sorry about no one getting to you yet.

    Maybe I can help....hopefully :)

    Questions:
1.) Have you tried restoring the windows installer service?
(Download the windows installer and merge it, then restart.)

2.) Are you unable to uninstall the program in safe mode?

3.) Could you try another uninstaller utility for now like Revo uninstaller to get rid of the software you want gone?

4.) Is it every program you go to uninstall restart your computer or just that one?

5.) Have you checked for malware/viruses/threats?

6.) What security software are you using?
