Be aware that the fixmbr command does not overwrite the partition table. It just copies the generic MBR that would be installed on a clean install, over the one currently on the HD without overwriting the partition table section of the MBR. That's ok in many cases. But if you accidentally munge the partition table or had other OS on the same drive and wanted to quickly go back to the old setup, it doesn't have that information. The quicky way to get back to where you were is to save the old MBR someplace and copy it back. That's what many Linux boot loaders do during install. Copy the MBR as it is before resizing/changing partitions into the /boot area someplace to save it.

An easier way may be to d/l and boot up Paragon free rescue cd. Select Normal mode >File transfer Wizard. That way, you can see what you are doing. Rescue Kit Free Edition - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com
Hello SIW2,
Sorry for the late response. I have been having issues with my machine and have finally, I hope, got it up to speed. I used the Startup Repair with the Rescue disk and the command prompt. It appears to be functioning correctly. I will look into that Paragaon Rescue kit, I use the backup.
Thanks
